So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, shouting, “Hosanna! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord, the King of Israel!” ~John 12:13
The Palm Sunday Chapel marks the place where Jesus is believed to have begun his triumphal journey on a donkey. Inside, the walls of the chapel are painted all around with life-sized frescoes of people waving palms. The people are in sepia tones and only Jesus, on the front wall, is in color. I feel as if I have gone back in time and entered the story. Our group sings “All Glory, Laud, and Honor,” and I imagine I am one of the children, whose sweet lips sang praises.
How might you enter the spirit of adoration this Palm Sunday?
Prayer: O Lord, I adore you with a child’s heart.
