There is a lot going on in my head these days. Last week I did two sessions of Neurofeedback, and that has been very interesting. Some people think neurofeedback is hocus-pocus, akin to a snake oil salesman, but I am very open to it. After all, a brain is an organism that is able to learn. Why wouldn’t this work?
Besides that, my family has had positive experiences with neurofeedback. A few years ago my husband did a number of neurofeedback sessions, and then set about becoming healthier in many ways. He quit taking some meds, lost a lot of weight, starting exercising regularly, and in general seemed happier.
As I move into a major transition in life, I want to give my brain a little TLC. I intend to do more sessions. After just two sessions in one week, I feel a slight difference in perception. It’s hard to describe. But it’s almost like there’s just the tiniest moment of pause where I can step back and see myself reacting to something. In that moment I often find myself to be ridiculous. I can’t help but think that this is incredibly healthy.
