Winter’s gone away.
Spring is here today!

Spring has come to stay!
Do you recognize that verse?
It’s from the children’s book ”Spring Is Here” by Lois Lenski, which was published in 1948. This little pink book was a favorite of our family. We read it aloud with great gusto at this time of the year. When our daughters were growing up we lived in cold places — Minneapolis, upstate New York, central Illinois — so reading it was less a reflection of reality, and more a statement of faith.
This particular book came to us from my sister-in-law, Annette.
Annette got it when it was culled from her church’s library: First Methodist Church, Park Ridge, Illinois.
That church, incidentally, was the church Hillary Clinton attended as a child.
